Hal & Al’s BBQ is the first halal restaurant in Virginia to be recognized for its green initiatives. We operate using 100% compostable packaging with zero single-use plastics, ensuring that our commitment to quality extends to how we impact the environment.

And we’ve taken it a step further:
For every 20lbs of wood we smoke, we plant one tree.
We are proud to be the first barbecue restaurant in the nation to completely offset our wood usage through reforestation efforts.
Current trees planted: 1,100 and growing.

Giving Back Beyond the DMV

At Hal & Al’s, giving back is built into who we are. We believe business should be a vehicle for positive change, and our growth should uplift others along the way.

That’s why 5% of all sales at Hal & Al’s is donated to the Human Development Fund to help run and operate an orphanage in Kenya. These contributions support essential needs, care, and long-term stability for the children served by the organization.
